What we did
When someone joins a retrospective through a quick guest entry — a shared link, no account, no password — everything they add now stays on the board permanently.
Until now a guest pass expired a day after it was handed out, and the cards, comments, and action items that person had written left the retrospective along with it. Teams that collected cards over several days could come back to a board with part of the discussion missing.
What's new
- Anything a guest writes — cards, comments, action items — stays on the board for good.
- A guest pass stays valid as long as the person keeps working. The one-day limit now counts from their last activity instead of from the moment they joined.
- Only unused passes are tidied up. If someone opened a board and wrote nothing, there is nothing to lose.
Why it matters
Retrospectives are rarely done in one sitting. A team gathers cards through the week, pulls in a colleague from another team by link, returns to the summary later. The longer a board stayed open, the more likely it was to quietly lose part of what participants had contributed — and a summary built on half the cards points the team at the wrong things.
Now the board keeps every contribution, whoever wrote it. What you read at the end is the full picture of what the team actually said, and the action items you take away are the ones people really agreed on.
