QRetro vs GoRetro
The short version
GoRetro is a retrospective tool that has grown into sprint management: alongside boards it offers sprint monitoring, developer analytics and a capacity calculator.
Its free plan covers one team, with unlimited users and guests, unlimited team boards and up to five public boards. Paid plans are priced per team: Premium at $29 per team per month billed annually ($348 a year), and Sprint Pro at $49 per team per month billed annually ($588 a year), which adds planning poker and the capacity calculator. Organization is by quote.
QRetro is free to use with no team limit, and planning poker is part of the free product rather than a tier above.

Where GoRetro is the better choice
Security certifications. SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001. QRetro has neither, so if your security review requires a certificate rather than a policy page, this decides it on its own.
Sprint management beyond the retrospective. Sprint monitoring, developer analytics and a capacity calculator connect the retrospective to how the sprint actually went. QRetro stops at the board and the action items.
Session extras. Icebreakers, polls and Joker cards give a facilitator more to work with during a live session.
A larger, better-resourced product. More surface area, more integrations on the roadmap, and a support operation that reviewers consistently rate well.
Where QRetro is the better choice
The free plan is not capped at one team. GoRetro's free tier is genuinely usable, but it covers a single team. The moment a second team wants in, you are at $29 per team per month, or $348 per team per year. QRetro does not count teams.
Planning poker is not a paid tier. On GoRetro, estimation lives on Sprint Pro at $49 per team per month. On QRetro it is part of the free product, with task import from Jira and Linear and estimates synced back.
Jira on the free plan. GoRetro's Jira Cloud integration is a paid feature; QRetro's integrations are not gated.
Access from your assistant. QRetro exposes retrospectives over the Model Context Protocol, so Claude, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code can query boards, health trends and open action items directly — and the same connection can open a poker game, import a sprint's tasks and sync estimates back to the tracker. See the MCP integration guide.
Choosing between them
Take GoRetro if you need SOC 2 or ISO 27001, if sprint monitoring and capacity planning belong in the same tool as the retrospective, or if you want icebreakers and polls built into the session.
Take QRetro if you have more than one team and the per-team price is the blocker, if you want estimation without moving up a tier, or if you want retrospective data available to the assistant you already work in.
Getting started
Open a board from a format your team knows — Mad Sad Glad, Starfish, Sailboat, Lean Coffee or any of the 52 templates — and share the link. Participants join from the browser without creating an account.
